a children's art, educational and sports community center in
the underserved area of Jacutinga in Jatai, Goiás, Brasil.
|
|
will provide, above all, love, care and a safe haven for children with an emphasis on the arts and healthy educational activities including computers and sports as tools for growth, self-discovery and empowerment.
Located in a neighborhood of approximately 1500 children, Casa da Criança Amor e Arte will offer daily enrichment programs. We foresee a capacity of 400 children per day, in two shifts, attending programs that will include the arts, crafts, photography, life skills, gardening, cooking, nutrition, reading/literacy, theatre, computers and sports (soccer, swimming, martial arts). The presence and accessibility of Casa da Criança Amor e Arte will have a meaningful impact on the entire community.

The
facility will be built on 8000 square meters of land (outlined in aerial photo in red) located in the Jacutinga area of Jataí, Goiás, that has been dedicated to Love & Art Children’s Foundation by the City of Jataí for this project. Architectural plans for Casa da Criança Amor e Arte are being drawn and we plan to break ground during the first half of 2010. Additionally, the City of Jataí has committed to provide on-site psychological services and support staff (cleaning, cooking, grounds, security).
Love & Art Children's Foundation has committed $300,000USD to this project and has received an equal amount of commitments from local Jataí business and community leaders.

Casa da Criança Amor e Arte in Jataí will be the first and a model for more children centers we plan to build throughout Brasil.
